Certificate in Trauma Counseling

The Post-Master’s Certificate in Trauma Counseling is designed to provide convenient, high-quality, specialized training for mental health providers who want to specialize in working with trauma survivors and those actively experiencing trauma. The certificate program is offered primarily through online courses and will enable clinicians to understand better-specialized issues, current treatment trends, and advocacy efforts, enhance communication with and effectively support persons experiencing trauma. The certificate program is open to those with a graduate degree in an allied mental health profession. All courses are consistent with CACREP accreditation requirements. 

Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

This Post-Master’s Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) is open to those who already hold a master’s degree in Counseling yet do not meet the current educational requirements for licensure as a clinical mental health counselor or licensed professional counselor in their state. This certificate allows counselors with specializations in other areas (e.g., school, career, vocational rehabilitation counseling) to gain the additional specialized academic courses currently required for professional counseling licensure. The certificate is 9-15 credits, depending on the number of courses you need for licensure.

MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Online)

Antioch’s CACREP-accredited Master’s in Counseling program accepts students from all undergraduate degrees looking to learn how to make a positive impact on those who need help the most. The program prepares you to work as a professional counselor to promote mental health, well-being, and social justice for a diverse, multicultural, and global community.

The Online delivery of our Clinical Mental Health Counseling includes online courses, intensive face-to-face clinical learning (either virtual or in person), and experiential learning in fieldwork focused on the development of your professional identity. Our faculty encourages an active, thorough, and continued examination of your development in the role of a professional counselor.

Technology, globalization, and cultural shifts are changing the way we interact, defying what we constitute as the norm. Evolving advancements, both technically and culturally, have changed the way that business is conducted. We place an emphasis on your practical professional development, building on foundational knowledge to increase savviness and adaptability to developing trends. BA in Liberal Studies, Leadership for Service and Change

You’ve proven yourself as a worthy employee within your organization, and now you want to channel your ambitions toward upper-level management. Our bachelor of management degree will help you learn how to effectively lead and engage a workforce through strategic and systematic management decisions. You’ll then be capable of leveraging new knowledge and enhanced leadership skills to take a human-centric approach to management, increasing productivity and building a more positive workplace.

BS in Applied Technology and Business Leadership

Antioch’s MANM is designed for working professionals who are ready for the next step in their careers. We have a diverse group of students, from those just starting out in the nonprofit world to people who already have leadership positions in agencies and institutions.

EdD in Educational & Professional Practice

The Doctor of Education in Educational and Professional Practice is intended for professionals who use educational practices in the service of social, economic, and environmental justice in schools and beyond. The program is designed with working adults in mind. Classes are offered online, with a four-day, face-to-face residency each July on one of our campuses. A new cohort will enter the program each summer term, and if you take two courses each term, you should be able to complete the degree in three years. Each semester is launched with a virtual Zoom residency on the first Saturday of each term.

You will study with an accomplished, diverse, and caring faculty who will guide you through a transdisciplinary curriculum that integrates scholarship and practice. Your culminating project will be a dissertation that establishes your place among scholar-practitioners who seek workable solutions to complex issues in schools, communities, and national and global settings.

Antioch University’s Individualized Master of Arts programs offered by the School of Education offer a high degree of flexibility in building a program of study that meets your personal and professional needs. We are excited to announce our partnership with Otterbein University and its premier nursing programs! These programs will offer both classroom and clinical experiences relevant to the current, ever-changing, and ever-growing needs of our healthcare systems and professionals. In addition to learning from our faculty, who are committed to providing personal attention and a supportive environment, you will also have opportunities to study abroad and off campus to enrich your nursing skills.

Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, BSN to DNP (MSN included)

The PMHNP majors prepare the graduate to work as an advanced practice nurse. The coursework prepares the student to sit for the national board certification exam from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to become a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner.

Otterbein’s curriculum, beginning summer semester each year, is designed as an online program allowing you to study and participate in clinical experiences in your location. The clinical component comprises courses in wellness, therapy, and diagnosis and management of mental illness across the lifespan in outpatient and inpatient settings. Clinical courses are precepted by a practicing mental health professional in your community and arranged by the student with support from faculty and staff.

Upon successful completion of the requirements for certification, either the Master of Science in Nursing degree or the Post-Graduate Certificate is awarded to enable you to take the certification exam and begin working as an advanced practice nurse before you complete your doctorate. Recipients of the MSN may choose to continue for an additional year to complete a scholarly project that leads to the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. Graduates who wish to begin practicing upon earning their MSN degree may return within five years to complete their DNP.

Otterbein’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (Master’s Degree to DNP)

Otterbein’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (Master’s Degree to DNP) is a practice-focused doctorate designed for expert advanced practice nurses and for nurse executives. The program develops advanced practice nurses and nurse executives committed to scholarly evidence-based practice, innovation, testing of care delivery models, and evaluation of health outcomes for the good of all members of society.

The curriculum culminates in a capstone experience that focuses on a clinical project related to the student’s area of interest and expertise.

  • Six semesters
  • Can be completed in 2 years, taking 2 courses at a time
  • Courses offered online
  • Required on-campus meetings: summer orientation day, project proposal presentation day, and final scholarly project report presentation day
  • Culminates with a practice-based project in the student’s area of interest
  • Part-time 3-year option available

Family Nurse Practitioner, BSN to DNP (MSN included)

The FNP majors prepare the graduate to work as an advanced practice nurse. The coursework prepares the student to sit for the national board certification exam from either the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner Certification Program (AANPCP) to become a family nurse practitioner. Otterbein has consistently achieved an exceptional FNP pass rate.

Our curriculum is designed with a core online component and a science core comprised of advanced health assessment, advanced pharmacology, and advanced pathophysiology. We value offering you the opportunity to practice advanced assessment and procedures/skills in our on-campus lab. The clinical component comprises courses in wellness, acute/common illnesses, and complex/chronic illnesses for adult, women, and child populations. Clinical courses (600 clinical hours) are precepted by a nurse practitioner or physician in your community and arranged by the student in collaboration with the nursing faculty.

Upon successful completion of the requirements for certification, either the Master of Science in Nursing degree or the Post-Graduate Certificate is awarded to enable you to take the certification exam and begin working as an advanced practice nurse before you complete your doctorate.
